About Podcasts
A podcast is a multimedia file distributed over the Internet using syndication feeds, for playback on mobile devices and personal computers. (Thank you, Wikipedia)
Since we are recording a long event (occasionally 3 hours or more) the file can be rather large. Our first meeting recording ia a bit larger than 70 MB. This would take a LONG time to download on dial-up (almost real time about 2.5 hours). DSL or cable (> 512 MBpS) would be faster (less than 20 minutes) . This is why podcasts are a subscription model so your computer can download new episodes while you are doing other things.
