Assessment Services
The goal of the Olympia School District’s Comprehensive Assessment Program is to provide information on student achievement to students, parents, community members and the District’s staff. This information keeps parents/legal guardians and students informed of progress and it gives educators a standard against which to evaluate student learning.
The Washington Assessment of Student Learning (WASL), given each spring, reports students’ level of achievement on state achievement targets in reading, writing, mathematics and science. The WASL includes both multiple-choice and written answers. Click here for more information on the WASL.
At the high school level, the PSAT (Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test), the SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test), the AP (Advanced Placement) tests, and IB (International Baccalaureate) tests are administered to those who choose to take them.
