To support families during this challenging time amidst the COVID-19 outbreak, we have compiled a menu of resources for students and families to access at home during the time schools are closed in Olympia. We have intentionally provided a variety of options, many of which do not require screen time once accessed.
These supplemental learning resources are provided to help keep students’ minds engaged, provide options for inquiry and discovery topics, and allow students to practice skills. These are not intended to be a substitute for our normal instructional services.
We are working toward expanding these resources for all students. At the same time, we have to ensure that federal and state laws around educational equal access are met for all students.
We have been taking steps since schools closed to ensure that all students K-12 who need a device or Wi-Fi hotspot will have one.
NOTE: If you are in need of a district chromebook, please stop by the Olympia School District Technology Department during our open pickup hours, Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9:30 AM until 12:00 PM to pick one up for your student. Please note, you must have internet access for the chromebook to work.
We are located at 111 Bethel St. NE. Come around back to Tullis St and look for the ramp with the large blue handrail.
Unfortunately, we are currently out of WiFi hotspots. If you would like to be placed on the waiting list for when we get more; if you need to make alternate arrangements for obtaining chromebooks; or if you have any questions or concerns, please call us at 360-596-8530.
As a reminder, all Olympia School District schools are closed through the remainder of the 2019-20 school year; however, distance learning will continue.
