Highly Capable referrals for grades 4 & 6-12
OSD District Logo

The Olympia School District is accepting referrals to be considered for the district’s Highly Capable program for students currently enrolled in grade 4, and grades 6-12. The deadline to submit a referral form is 5 p.m. on Friday, March 24, 2023 for these grades only.

Students in third grade will automatically be screened unless a family opts out; no referral form is necessary for third grade only. If you do not wish to have your third grader screened, please complete the Opt Out of 3rd grade Universal Screening Form and return it to your student’s school front office or to the Knox 111 Administrative Center, 111 Bethel St. N.E., Olympia, WA 98506.

Highly capable students are students who perform or show potential for performing at significantly advanced academic levels when compared with others of their age, experiences, or environments. Referrals may come from community members, teachers, other staff, parents/guardians, and students.

Information regarding Highly Capable identification and services, as well as the link to the referral form, are posted on the Olympia School District’s Highly Capable Services webpage. Copies of the form may be requested from school offices.
