"Preferred Language": Communicating With All Families
Welcome back to 2025-2026! Starting the year off with solid family-school communication is key to establishing a successful family partnership--with the goal of student engagement, achievement, and social well being. Qmlativ does not have an interpreter indicator like Skyward did, so staff must now look at the "Family" section to find "Preferred languages for family communication". In addition to Parent Square, our district has several ways to communicate with linguistically diverse families and families who require assistive technology/ASL, and once you login to the Intranet, you can use this link. Use Language Link for quick check ins with families, and the Interpreter Request form for conferences, IEPs, or meetings.
Many district forms are also available in the 2 most common non-English languages for enrollment, field trips, Harassment & Bullying Report forms, school athletics, lunch applications, etc, so take a few minutes to browse all of the available resources available to support our families. If you have any questions, feel free to contact Erika Molina Duarte in T&L at #8540.
