OSD School Counseling Vision

The OSD CSCP is committed to providing students, families, staff, and the community with equitable support and resources. Olympia school counselors are agents of change. As a result of our work, students will be provided with opportunities for growth in academics, career development, social-emotional skills, and the ability to advocate for themselves and others.

OSD School Counseling Mission

The mission of the Olympia School District School Counseling Program is to create an environment that supports all students to reach their full academic, social-emotional, and career potential. We are committed to ensuring that our students have equitable access to resources and opportunities as well as culturally relevant support.

Belief Statements

  • We believe all students should have equitable access to resources, support, and academic opportunities.
  • We believe all students should have the academic and life skills to pursue their individual career, civic and educational goals.
  • We believe all students should have the ability to advocate for the social, physical and mental wellness of themselves and others and be hopeful about the future.
  • We believe all students are curious, love learning and can discover their passions.
  • We believe all students are critical thinkers and can learn to cooperate and collaborate with our local, global and natural world.

Olympia School District School Counselors utilize a crosswalk of the OSD District Improvement Plan, ASCA Standards, and WA SEL Standards to create a district and building level Comprehensive School Counseling Program (CSCP) that equitably meets the academic, social/emotional, and college/career needs of all students.
