In honor of National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day, Governor Inslee has directed all Washington State and United States flags at all state agency facilities continue to be lowered to half-staff Friday, December 7, 2018. National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day was created in honor of those Americans killed or injured in the attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941.
We also honor the memory of U.S. Army Sgt. Leandro “Lando” Antonio Jasso, killed in the line of duty in Afghanistan on November 24, 2018. Governor Inslee has directed all Washington State and United States flags at all state agency facilities continue to be lowered at half-staff on Sunday, December 9, 2018.
Flags have been lowered to half-staff since December 2 and will continue to be lowered until close of business or sunset on Monday, December 31, 2018 in memory of former United States President George H.W. Bush who passed away on November 30, 2018.
