The Olympia School District is seeking persons interested in helping write a Voters’ Pamphlet statement supporting or opposing the OSD Technology and Safety Replacement Levy measure, which will appear on the February 8, 2022 Special Election ballot.

Election regulations require that the district solicit citizens within its district boundary who want to participate in writing a “For” and “Against” Committee statement to appear in the official Thurston County Official Voters’ Pamphlet. Each committee shall consist of not more than three members; however, a committee may seek the advice of other persons.

If interested in being considered by the district for appointment to either committee, please email no later than 5 p.m. on December 1, 2021 your name, mailing address, phone number and email address to Susan Gifford, executive director of communications and community relations, at [email protected] (360-596-6104). Please indicate whether you want to participate in writing a “For” or “Against” committee statement. School district administration, in cooperation with officers of the Board of Directors, will officially name each committee.

After the authors are named, the timeline is as follows:

  • December 17, 2021: For/Against Statement due to Elections Division (Must not exceed 250 words/4 paragraphs)
  • December 20, 2021: Rebuttal Statement due to Elections Division (Must not exceed 75 words/2 paragraphs)
