The Olympia School District Board of Directors will hold a regular Board Meeting online at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, June 22, 2020.

Public Comment (updated June 19, 2020)

 

Live public comment will resume for OSD Regular Board Meetings starting at the June 22, 2020 meeting, with comment being provided remotely during the meeting through Zoom Webinar or teleconference. The process for signing up to provide public comment is described below.

The Olympia School District Board of Directors welcomes your interest in our school district, invites members of the public to the regular meetings of the Board, and dedicates time at these meetings to hear from the public on agenda items and other issues of concern.

It is important for all community members to feel welcome and safe in the Board’s business meetings. Audience members will be expected to treat all attendees with respect and civility, just as Olympia School District expects of students in our schools. Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) conditions apply.

HOW TO SIGN UP FOR PUBLIC COMMENT
Sign-Up period is on the day of the Regular Board Meeting, from 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. To sign up for public comment, members of the public should do one (1) of the following:

 

 

When signing up or calling, please provide the following information for comment:

1. Full legal name;

2. Contact information

 

  • Telephone Number
  • Email Address
  • Mailing/Residential Address *Optional

 

3. The topic you would like to address.

 

4. Participation by videoconferencing or teleconferencing the following
is needed:

 

  • Videoconferencing - Screen Name as it appears in Zoom
  • Teleconferencing - Phone Number as it appears in Zoom

The School Board Office will take sign-ups for the public comment list from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. on the day of the Board Meeting. If you miss the opportunity to sign up, public comments are also accepted by email. Send to: [email protected].

The final list of public comment participants will be posted with the meeting agenda by 5 p.m. on the day of the meeting in BoardDocs.

Each speaker on the public comment list will have up to three (3) minutes to speak.

Additionally, if complete information is not provided, you will not be included on the list. The School Board Office will not follow-up to obtain correct information or tell you where you are on the list.

If a citizen has a question about a school-specific issue, staff member or student, it is appropriate to begin that dialogue at the school or district office level with the principal or district leader. Contact information for all schools and district departments is posted on this school district website. If a citizen continues to have a concern, they are encouraged to contact the Superintendent's office at 360-596-6117.
